Watford are keeping tabs on Millonarios’ Carlos Andrés Gómez, according to a report.
Operating mainly on the right wing, he has impressed for the Colombian side this term. Gómez found the back of the net in his side’s 2-0 win over Deportivo Pereira last weekend.
Watford had a scout in attendance at the Estadio Nemesio Camacho El Campín and they observed the 20-year-old, who ‘stood out’ for his side against Deportivo Pereira. This information was shared by journalist Carlos Antonio Vélez to Antena 2, relayed by Futbol Red.
Vélez claims the Championship side follow Gómez and that is why they sent their official to Millonarios’ home stadium, where the scout watched him closely.
The Hornets would ‘not only be interested’ be interested in signing Gómez., as according to the journalist, the English club’s official also watched Independiente Santa Fe midfielder Johan Torres in action against Junior de Barranquilla last week.
Watford have signed Yaser Asprilla and agreed a deal for Jorge Cabezas. Futbol Red say they are looking at young players to ‘train and empower’, so that they can sell them to other European clubs at a later date.
