Earlier today, we covered a report from Villarreal’s local media which stated Aston Villa made an offer to sign Juan Foyth and then suddenly went cool on the idea of getting the Argentine defender.

There’s a very good chance that’s due to Foyth’s fitness situation, with him still easing his way back into action after a long term layoff.

The Villarreal reports stated Aston Villa and Monchi had moved on to consider alternatives, and it’s been clear for a couple of days that Axel Disasi is one of those.

Chelsea signed the defender from AS Monaco in August 2023 and he’s not quite got the prominence he wants. The Blues appear to be open to the 26-year-old’s exit, and French journalist Loic Tanzi has brought the latest on the situation.

Tanzi, who works for L’Equipe, reports Aston Villa have made a loan offer which consists of payment for the loan period. The deal would have an option to buy for the Birmingham club.

Wolves are also said to be keen on the Chelsea player, but he “wants to join Aston Villa” explains Tanzi.
