At the weekend, Argentine journalist Cesar Luis Merlo broke the news about Talleres’ interest in signing Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Josh Windass.
It was claimed that since manager Pedro Caixinha had worked with the player at Rangers, he recommended the signing, and the South American club would now meet the Stellar Group to work on the transfer.
Now it turns out that the interest in Windass is confirmed by Talleres. Club president Andrés Fassi had an interview with Como Te Va, and corroborated that the pursuit is on for a summer transfer.
“We are in talks with an English player, who Pedro already had in Europe as a player, he wants to come and live the experience of Argentine football,” said Fassi.
Windass only made 12 appearances for Sheffield Wednesday this season, despite having good numbers with four goals and two assists made.
His contract with the Owls runs until 2023, and since Tallares are unlikely to pay many millions for the signing, the deal should only happen in case the League One side accept his wish of making the move to Argentina.
