It’s quite unusual to see English players linked to a move outside of Europe, especially to South America. That’s why it’s quite interesting to see reports from Argentina now speaking of Josh Windass’ potential move to the country.

It’s journalist Cesar Luis Merlo who says Tallares are looking to sign the midfielder this summer.

The reason for this chase is the interest from manager Pedro Caixinha, who knows the player from his time in charge of Rangers. It’s said he already spoke to the 28-year-old about the potential transfer.

Merlo claims that this week there will be a meeting between Talleres and the Stellar Group, who represent Windass.

The report doesn’t say how much Tallares are looking to spend on Windass, as it’s only claimed that there’s one-year left in his contract with Sheffield Wednesday.

With Argentine clubs not having huge economic power, it’s probably safe to say that this deal is only happening if the Owls make his departure easy.
