On Tuesday, Brentford technical director Lee Dykes refused to confirm or deny if his side are willing to make an offer for Real Betis’ Assane Diao.

Earlier this season, the 18-year-old made his first team debut and he’s scored four goals from 18 games. He’s aroused interest from several clubs and especially Brentford.

Mucho Deporte claim that in the ‘last few hours’, there have been new movements in this case.

The winger is happy and feels it could be good for his career to continue at the La Liga side. On the other hand, Real Betis have to sell some players and if Dia were to receive a great offer, his sale would certainly help the club.

As Brentford hover to sign the Spain U21 international, it’s claimed the Andalusian club are ‘waiting for news from England’. Thomas Frank’s side are said to be willing to table an offer, but as of now, Real Betis haven’t received a bid.

Real Betis are ready to cooperate for Diao’s transfer, as long as there’s an offer, including bonuses, that is close to his €30m clause.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side are waiting for Brentford’s offer and if they table a bid, there’s a good chance of getting a deal over the line. If not, Mucho Deporte say it’s not ruled out another English club could sign Diao in the winter market.
