Following Andrea Radrizzani’s purchase of Sampdoria, the Leeds United owner has been very distracted in Italy.
He is currently trying to sell his shares in the Elland Road club, but that has yet to go through, and he is spending his time planning the future with the future Serie B side.
One of the areas the Leeds owner is trying to address is the shaping of the squad, and he is turning to one man, who is Fabio Paratici, according to Club Doria 46.
Now, as you may know, the former Tottenham director of football is currently unable to be employed in the footballing world for the next 30 months, and he won’t be.
Paratici and Radrizzani are simply friends, and that’s the way it will stay for now, with the website reporting ‘never say never’ to the two working together.
This is information they have received from sources close to the banned transfer chief, who have told them that the relationship between the two men ‘has intensified over the past few weeks’.
What has happened is Paratici has been giving the Leeds owner ‘a series of advice and suggestions’ at what is a ‘very delicate phase’.
With Sampdoria having to redo everything, starting with a new manager and a director of football, they also have to find a new general manager.
However, they know that Fabio Paratici’s skills in the field are currently ‘limited’, and they ‘don’t go beyond the name of the manager or even that of the next sporting director’.
The ex-Tottenham chief is ‘not yet thinking about returning to the field personally at Sampdoria’, and is merely ‘looking around, evaluating hypotheses’.
Nothing has been decided as of yet, which is why Radrizzani ‘has not lost hope of being able to convince him’ down the line.
For now, though, he is ‘content with his advice’, and that’s it.
