Earlier on Tuesday, Fulham announced Andreas Pereira has gone under the knife.
Following the ankle injury the player suffered in the match against Manchester City at the weekend, the midfielder had an operation today and is set to miss the rest of the season.
Even though Fulham only officially said they’ll continue to provide updates on his situation, Brazilian journalist Fred Caldeira now shares what he knows about the situation.
The reporter says that no important ligaments in Pereira’s ankle were damaged, and that’s great news regarding his rehabilitation.
Also according to the TNT Sports journalist, Pereira should return ‘well’ for pre-season with Fulham this summer.
The midfielder joined the Whites in a €9.5m move from Manchester United at the start of the season. Even though he’d been loaned to Brazilian side Flamengo and it may have looked like his career in Europe was done, he actually had a great adaptation to Marco Silva’s side and became an important player.
Pereira had started in all of Fulham’s matches in the Premier League so far, and will certainly be missed in the decisive part of the season.
