Tottenham star Harry Kane should join Bayern Munich this summer as he ‘finally needs some trophies’ in his cabinet.

That’s according to Gary Lineker, who has been speaking to SportBILD regarding the England and Tottenham captain and the potential move to Bavaria.

Kane has been heavily linked with a transfer to Bayern throughout this summer, with the German champions keen to sign him as their replacement for Robert Lewandowski.

Bayern have been negotiating with Tottenham over a deal for months, with Daniel Levy demanding a huge fee for the Spurs icon and refusing to budge from that point despite Kane’s contract expiring next summer.

There is an expectation that he will finally agree to sell Kane, particularly as several reports have made it clear that the striker wants the move to Bayern and has already told them he won’t be joining any other clubs this summer.

Indeed, reports in Germany have made it clear that Kane and his family have already been to the country to scout out houses and schools ahead of the move.

That’s seen as a clear indication he really wants to leave Tottenham this summer and Lineker thinks he should, simply so he can add trophies to his bare cabinet.

“For him it would be a really good move that comes at the right time,” he said.

“Even if he probably wouldn’t break the league’s top-scoring record. But that’s just an individual best record, and football is a team sport.

“He finally needs some trophies in the cabinet. Harry has had unbelievable bad luck up until now that he simply hasn’t managed to do this over the years. If there’s a guaranteed title in football, it’s the one with Bayern in the Bundesliga.”
