Earlier today, we covered a report from Portugal which talked about a growing queue of clubs lining up for Sporting CP’s Geny Catamo.

Aston Villa are one of those credited with interest and the update was that Como have now moved into the picture. Over in Spain, the two clubs are being lined up for another battle… this time for Jesús Rodríguez.

ABC Sevilla report Unai Emery and Como manager Cesc Fabregas are battling for the Real Betis player. The 19-year-old is a winger and considered one of the best prospects to play at the club in recent years.

Emery is said to have told Damian Vidagany and Monchi that Jesús Rodríguez should be signed and would be a good investment for the club. Meanwhile, Fabregas is thought to have spoken to the 19-year-old directly.

Chelsea, Napoli and RB Leipzig are also keen and it’s thought a bidding war could be on the way to secure the youngster.

Jesús Rodríguez has a €35m buyout clause at Real Betis, and ABC Sevilla report the club want a figure close to that. Something around €25m plus bonuses may do the trick, and Aston Villa should now be nudged to hurry.
