On Thursday, Brazilian outlet UOL reported Fulham’s bid for São Paulo midfielder Pablo Maia. With the numbers not revealed, it was only said the Whites were making an attempt to land the 29-year-old.
Now as the local media goes after more information on this story, we see some conflicting claims about how advanced the pursuit is for the player.
One of the stories comes from Lance. They claim to have confirmed that São Paulo received an offer from Fulham, despite saying that both the numbers and the Tricolor’s stance on the sale are ‘kept in secret’.
Lance adds that the Whites are showing big interest in the Brazilian club’s talents, as they had already ‘monitored’ other players such as Luizão, Rodrigo Nestor and Igor Gomes.
Now even though those two reports are very similar, we see something different coming from Goal Brasil. They claim even though Fulham are interested in Pablo Maia, the club have not placed a bid yet.
It’s reported that the Craven Cottage side are only ‘monitoring the situation for now’, as they think of a January move. It’s also said that São Paulo have no intention of negotiating and ‘were not communicated’ the interest or the offer.
Despite the conflicting information, the truth is that those are three big outlets speaking of Fulham’s interest, so we can surely expect more from this story in the coming days.
