Earlier today, we covered a report from journalist Jorge Nicola which said Southampton defender Lyanco is about to agree a move back to Brazil.
A source from the player’s entourage confirmed that a deal is very close, even though the club’s name wasn’t revealed.
As UOL now shares an update on the situation, they claim there are two Brazilian sides fighting for the Southampton player.
It’s said that Atlético Mineiro and Botafogo have been battling each other in the past few hours, with them both having submitted their official bids.
There aren’t many details on how much each club put on the table, but it’s said that those deals could reach up to €5m, including bonuses.
Those are two interesting possibilities for Lyanco, and it’s him who’ll choose his next destination.
Just like Nicola, UOL also claims that Al-Gharafa, who had him on loan this season, wanted to buy him from Southampton, but the defender wants a move back to Brazil.
This competition now can only be good for the Saints, who’ll manage to get a better deal for the sale.
