Youssouf Mulumbu, who left Celtic this summer, could be on his way to France, according to claims from the local media today.
RCM Sport says Ligue 1 sides Dijon and Nimes are both keen on signing the 32-year-old, and have already made the first contacts for a transfer.
It’s claimed that Peggy Luyindula, who’s an advisor to the Dijon president, is one of the people who have been in contact with Mulumbu’s entourage.
The report adds that these French sides should have the competition from Turkish clubs as well, so there should be a little race for the midfielder in these last weeks of transfer window.
However, there seems to be some confusion in France over the player’s Celtic contract situation.
RMC state Celtic would be willing to let the player go this summer, since he’s ‘in his last year of contract’, and they’d be willing to let him leave for nothing.
However, the Hoops have terminated his contract this summer, making him a free agent over a month ago. It sounds like RMC are not aware of that, which may bring some doubt on the other claims.
