Valencia have rejected Besiktas’ loan offer for their defender Aymen Abdennour, according to Sporx and the Spanish media. Abdennour has also been a target Everton in this window, and now the Tunisia international is waiting for his future to be resolved on deadline day. Manager Jorge Mendes offered Abdennour to Besiktas, but Valencia officials aren’t keen to sell the player.

Everton have been linked with Abdennour throughout this window after selling John Stones to Manchester City, but there’s been no sign of business so far between the two clubs in recent days.

Everton may well have changed their mind given Abdennour’s poor season for Valencia in the last campaign.

Earlier this month we covered reports from Spain that Everton had contacted Valencia and opened talks to sign the central defender, with the Spanish club hoping to get the €22m back which they paid AS Monaco last summer.
