Besiktas have joined the race to sign Manchester City attacker Nolito, FutbolArena reports. The Turkish giants are in the market for a striker this summer, and if they are unable to sign Vincent Aboubakar, Manchester City’s Nolito is their plan B.
Nolito, who is also linked with a move to Real Betis, joined Manchester City at the start of the season from Celta Vigo. It seems the former Barcelona youth product is no longer a serious figure in the plans of manager Pep Guardiola, and Besiktas are hoping to use this situation to their advantage.
The Turkish website also reports Real Betis have pulled out of the race to sign Nolito because the La Liga club couldn’t afford the player’s €3m annual salary, which makes sense. His wage should not be a problem for Besiktas as they are ready to participate in the Champions League for a second successive season.
A loan move could be good for Besiktas, and given his versatility he’d be an important player for the Black Eagles.
