We recently covered a report from La Nazione which spoke of Newcastle United interest in Fiorentina’s Nico Gonzalez.
The report mentioned a potential offer from the Magpies and that it was on the table, with the Argentine one of the candidates to leave La Viola this summer.
La Nazione have gone a step further about the situation today, stating that the possibility of Gonzalez’s exit has now ‘gained momentum’.
Raffaele Palladino’s side have completed the signing of Andrea Colpani from Monza, with the manager and the winger reuniting at Fiorentina. This has pushed Gonzalez closer to the exit door, as Colpani plays in the same position as the Argentine.
Fiorentina are willing to listen to offers for the player, but they must not be below €35 million. And Newcastle have been ‘informed’ about the situation, amidst interest from Atletico Madrid.
There is also interest from Saudi Arabia but it does seem as if there is something in the Newcastle United talk. The opportunity is there for them to take and it’s likely the €35m is negotiable.
