Clinton Mola will not be remaining at Blackburn Rovers beyond the end of the season, with his loan deal not having worked out for either party.
That’s according to Kicker, who say the 22-year-old has not managed to ‘find the happiness’ he was looking for at Ewood Park.
Mola moved to Blackburn on loan in June last year as a reinforcement for their defence but has barely featured this season, making just four appearances in the Championship and just 6% of the available minutes in the league.
He has simply not managed to impress or earn his place, playing ‘no role’ under manager John Dahl Tomasson and last featured in a squad in December.
Since that point he has been completely out of the picture, failing to make the squad in the last 19 league games in a row.
That is a clear sign that Blackburn won’t be taking up their option to sign the player permanently, with Kicker reporting that is ‘not an issue’ despite them having a clause worth €2m.
He’s instead going to be sent back to Stuttgart, but they don’t want him either and ‘there is no longer a future’ for him at the German side either.
A ‘transfer is desired’ from there also, meaning he needs to find himself a new club this summer once his time at Ewood Park, which has been nothing short of disastrous, comes to an end.
