After months and months of waiting and delays, Tottenham finally managed to play their first ever game in their new stadium, which ended in a 2-0 win against Crystal Palace.
Goals from Heung-min Son and Christian Eriksen helped Mauricio Pochettino’s side walk away with three important points in Spurs’ bid for a top four finish.
Another positive will have been Hugo Lloris’ performance, who didn’t make a costly mistake, which is the least he could do considering Crystal Palace had just one shot on target.
Speaking to RMC Sport after the game, the club captain was asked about the general feeling and atmosphere inside the new stadium throughout the 90 minutes.
“With the game coming up against Manchester City, it was important to get off to a good start, and we know that in the Premier League, a lot depends on us. We still have four games at home in the league, and we know the difference will likely be made here.”
Those games against Huddersfield Town, Brighton & Hove Albion, West Ham and Everton on the last day of the season should all be won, at least on paper.
However, next up will be Manchester City at home in the Champions League.
