Amid all the excitement of Tottenham looking for a new manager and Napoli winning the Serie A title, there has been little talk about Tanguy Ndombélé.
Sure, there have been a few stories here and there, and the general consensus is that he’ll be heading back to Spurs, but there’s been nothing definitive just yet.
Corriere della Sera on Friday help us out a bit, as the outlet did a round up of every major player in Luciano Spalletti’s squad, and included the Tottenham loanee in there.
In fact, they’re quite pleased with what he’s achieved during his stay there, describing him as having ‘professional reliability’, which he combined with ‘a strong physical presence’ when called upon.
His performances have ‘generally been good’, and he was key in their good showing in the Premier League, and has been a ‘convenient replacement’ in midfield when some of the starters needed a rest in what has been a long season for Napoli.
However, because of Tottenham’s ‘crazy demands’, the €30m asked for by the London side are ‘frankly too much’.
Had it not been for this fee, the player ‘would certainly be redeemable’, meaning they would have probably already made their move to keep him.
Basically, unless Spurs lower that asking price, he’ll be back at the club this summer.
