The Portuguese media continues to come up with updates on Tottenham Hotspur’s chase for Sporting fullback Pedro Porro.
This time, it’s Record who features a story claiming Spurs already got in touch with the Lions to talk about that transfer, but were told he’s not leaving for less than his release clause.
Tottenham reportedly consider the €45m fee to be too much, but still, they ‘will insist’ in getting the signing done for a lower price, given Antonio Conte’s wish of having Porro in his squad.
The problem is that Sporting don’t want to miss out on such player midway through the season and are not expected to negotiate with interested clubs.
They’re said to have a healthy financial situation and feel no need to sell the player right now.
It had been previously claimed by other Portuguese outlets this week that Tottenham believed Sporting could accept making a little discount for Porro, but Record’s stance is pretty clear, saying the Lions are not willing to negotiate
This means that if Tottenham want the fullback signed in the January transfer window, then those €45m will really be needed.
