While Pierre-Emile Højbjerg doesn’t want to leave Tottenham in the next day or so, Bryan Gil is not in that situation.
At least, that’s what Corriere dello Sport are reporting on Wednesday, as they still cover a potential move to Lazio for the Spurs winger.
The Italian newspaper recall that the Tottenham forward has ‘yet to make a move’ in this transfer window, despite many clubs being interested in his services.
Standing in the way for many clubs are the London club’s demands, with it said the Premier League side value their player at €20m.
Regarding a temporary deal, Gil would ‘only accept a loan at Brighton’ and ‘seems to be leaning towards’ remaining in England, where he clearly hasn’t given up hope of impressing after his big money move from Sevilla a few years ago.
Therefore, if Lazio do want to sign him, the belief is ‘there would be a need’ to include an obligation to buy in any loan deal they strike with Tottenham for the 22-year-old.
Whether that’s something the Serie A side would want to do remains to be seen, especially since they are struggling to go beyond €16m in their attempts to sign Jack Clarke from Sunderland.
