A month ago, Corriere dello Sport stated Tottenham Hotspur are interested in RB Leipzig star Joško Gvardiol.
The 20-year-old has impressed for the Bundesliga side this season and starred for Croatia at the World Cup, where they finished third. This has seen him end up on the agenda of top European clubs.
According to Bild, Tottenham are among them and they ‘want’ the centre-back next summer.
From England, Chelsea are also interested in the Croatia international and it’s explained Spurs and the Blues are ‘fighting’ for his signature.
Antonio Conte’s side could afford to secure the Leipzig player’s services by paying around €80-100m. The report suggests this money would be raised by selling Harry Kane after this season, which feels like something of a leap to justify the the transfer story.
Last September, the Croatian extended his deal until 2027 and it has a €112m termination clause that will be valid from 2024. There is no clause for this year and Bild say a fee of €100m would be needed to take Gvardiol away from the German club next summer.
