Tottenham target Joaquin Correa has made it clear he wants to leave Lazio this summer in a boost to Fabio Paratici’s efforts to lure him to London.

That’s according to Corriere della Sera, who say the forward will ‘almost certainly’ be leaving the Italian club after an impressive season that’s seen him starring for Argentina at the Copa America.

That tournament has been a ‘great way to showcase himself’ to the world, and Correa has communicated to Lazio ‘clearly and conclusively’ that he has ‘decided to leave’ and develop elsewhere.

He wants a new challenge and a bigger salary, and the club are willing to give him what he want, with president Claudio Lotito and sporting director Igli Tare now working to get the best deal.

They know they can make good money and invest it in the squad for new manager Maurizio Sarri, who wants as many as five additions in the squad.

They can make a ‘significant capital gain’ on the €16m they paid to sign him from Sevilla, which has now largely been written off.

Finding suitors who are willing to pay is tough, but they are there, with clubs in England and Paris Saint Germain willing to pay.

Correa’s agent is working on a deal, and he’s already ‘made contact’ with Arsenal and Tottenham about a deal.

Lotito would like to sell for around €40m, which is considered high and ‘unattainable’, and he knows he will probably have to settle for less if Correa is to leave.

A deal is certainly there to be done for Tottenham and Fabio Paratici, though, and the fact Correa has made it clear he wants to leave works in Spurs’ favour.
