The Swedish media today talks about the possibility of the national team having Tottenham Hotspur’s Dejan Kulusevski as their captain in the future.

That’s mentioned by Aftonbladet, who reports that Victor Lindelof is set to keep the armband for the next few games.

The outlet discusses the other options that Sweden have in the squad for that role, and they sound sure that Kulusevski is a real possibility for the coming years.

Aftonbladet claims the Tottenham player is ‘more analytical and verbal’ than Lindelof, and there are some arguments for the Manchester United defender to lose the captaincy.

It’s said Kulusevski could be the ‘perfect captain in a year or so’, with Emil Forsberg and Robin Olsen being the other options.

The Tottenham winger made his debut for Sweden back in 2019, and now has 35 caps for them, but never as a captain. He never started a match with the armbrand for either Spurs or Juventus, so that would be something completely new to him.

Sweden are playing friendlies against Portugal and Albania in this international break.
