Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton are to send scouts to the game between Cheltenham and Charlton Athletic, with the objective of watching Ademola Lookman.

Gloucestershire Live have confirmed Tottenham and Southampton are on the scouting list tonight to watch the Football League Cup clash between the two EFL sides.

The 18-year-old impressed for England in this summer’s European Under-19 championships, which brought him to the attention of the four Premier League sides.

Arsenal and Liverpool are also reported to be attending the game, and they too will be watching £2m rated Charlton player.

Lookman made his debut for Charlton last year, and has since gone to make 25 league appearances, scoring 5 goals. The young attacker is likely to figure tonight after playing just 22 minutes in Charlton’s game with Bury at the weekend

The player has also been capped 6 times for the England youth team after making his debut earlier in the year.

Tottenham and Southampton have shared target repeatedly since Mauricio Pochettino move to White Hart Lane, and took some staff with him. Given that both clubs have the same outlook of signing young talent and developing them, it’s likely to continue.
