Tottenham are eyeing up a move for Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan this summer as a replacement for Hugo Lloris.

That’s according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, who say the Premier League side could provide competition to AC Milan for his signature.

It’s explained that while negotiations with Gianluigi Donnarumma are well underway and have been for some time, the issue is ‘unresolved’ at this moment in time.

And, thus, the club have ‘started to look around’ at potential replacements should the worst happen and Donnarumma leave.

Maignan is one of those they are looking at, with him having impressed this season, racking up 16 clean sheets in 30 games in Ligue 1 so far.

AC Milan aren’t the only one to notice those numbers, though, with it explained Milan are not the ‘only suitor’ as Tottenham have also shown an interest in the 25-year-old.

They are said to have ‘set their sights’ on Maignan as a replacement for Hugo Lloris, whose contract expires next summer and will be 35 by that point.

There is no mention of Tottenham making a move as yet, which is also the case for Milan, who are waiting to see what happens with Donnarumma and continuing negotiations with Mino Raiola to find an agreement.

The interest from both is there, though, with Lille set to ask for a fee around €20m should anyone come forward.
