Tottenham are ‘serious’ about signing Barcelona youngster Dani Rodriguez and the Catalan side ‘fear’ he will be on his way to England.
That’s according to Sport, who say Tottenham are hoping to convince the youngster to join them when his contract expires in June.
They explain that Rodriguez’s future is ‘not at all clear’ at this moment in time, with his current deal set to come to an end on June 30th and increasing fears at Camp Nou that he will decide to leave when it does.
Tottenham are ‘very interested’ in acquiring him and have the economic power, as well as a ‘seductive sporting project’, that could end up making a difference.
Conversations between the player’s entourage and Barcelona have already taken place but a hypothetical renewal is ‘far away’.
Barcelona suspect that Tottenham are ‘going all out’ to convince Rodriguez, who is one of the most ‘advanced’ players in Barcelona’s youth set up.
More contacts between his agent, Pini Zahavi, and the club are planned for the coming weeks, but the fear is that Tottenham have already made enough overtures to convince him to join them and their increasing focus on young talent.
