Tottenham and Giovani Lo Celso have been intrinsically linked this summer, with both determined to be united at the club’s new stadium.

So far a move hasn’t happened, though, with Spurs, specifically Daniel Levy, refusing to meet Real Betis asking price.

That’s not stopped Tottenham from pushing for the signing and every indication has been they would try to get it done somehow before tomorrow’s deadline.

That eventuality appears to be one step closer to happening Mucho Deporte reporting Spurs returned in the last few hours with an improved bid for the Argentine midfielder.

They claim the deal is for around €60m, with Tottenham paying a ‘significant’ amount upfront and the rest in variables.

The exact details are not precise, but it is stated that Betis are considering accepting it.

Mucho Deporte are not the only ones claiming a deal is close either with Mateo Gonzalez, who is head of sport at ABC Sevilla pushing the news as as well.

In fact, he believes that Lo Celso will ‘probably’ miss Betis’ friendly with Las Palmas tonight, further suggesting that a move to Tottenham could be imminent.
