Tottenham scouts are travelling ‘regularly’ to watch Cercle Brugge striker Kévin Denkey as he continues to impress this season.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say Tottenham are one of several sides watching the 23-year-old closely.
Denkey has been earning rave reviews with his performances for Cercle Brugge this season, with 22 goals in 26 games in the Jupiler Pro League and another in his one appearance in the Croky Cup.
His goals are pushing Cercle on their way to securing a place in the Champions Playoffs at the end of the season and, ‘logically arousing’ the curiosity of the big names in Europe.
Tottenham are one of those keeping an eye on the Togo international, with his current figures proving he has the qualities required to become a great attacker and ‘excel on the European stage’.
English and German clubs have already started to make moves and FM name two in particular, stating Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund ‘regularly travel’ to Belgium to watch the player.
In fact, they had scouts in the stands for the recent clash between Cercle Brugge and Club Brugge, the only game in his last four he didn’t bag a double in, ironically.
Cercle Brugge are aware of the interest in the 23-year-old and don’t intend to let him go easily, setting a €20m asking price on their man that would put him among the biggest sales in the league’s history alongside Victor Boniface, Paul Onuachu and Jonathan David.
Whether Tottenham or any of the suitors are willing to pay such a figure remains to be seen, but the interest is there, and their scouts are keeping a close eye on him.
