Tottenham Hotspur have become the latest club to be credited with interest in Juventus’ Andrea Cambiaso.
According to Corriere di Torino, relayed by Tutto Juve, the 24-year-old has ‘bewitched’ a few Premier League sides, including Tottenham.
The wing-back has managed three goals and six assists from 39 games this season and has a deal until 2027.
Cambiaso’s displays have seen clubs, especially in England, take notice, and Tottenham are among them.
It’s claimed Spurs are ‘ready to offer €40m’ to secure the Italy international’s services in the summer window. Ange Postecoglou’s side aren’t alone as Aston Villa are named as an interested party.
Two days ago, we covered claims from Italy explaining that Arsenal, Manchester United and the Villans are in the picture to sign the player.
Although he operated mainly as a wing-back last season, Cambiaso’s preferred position is on the left side of defence, a position that Destiny Udogie has cemented at Tottenham.
Another report from Tutto Juve says the Italian club are working on renewing Cambiaso’s deal and talks between the two parties are ongoing. It’s quite possible his camp could use alleged interest from Tottenham and others to put pressure on Juve to get a better deal.
We simply do not buy that half the top half of the Premier League have all decided they’ll happily pay €40m for him over the past week.
