Already dealing with Genoa during the January transfer window for the purchase of Radu Dragusin and loan of Djed Spence, Tottenham could end up having more conversations with the Serie A side.
Not because of the right-back, who has an option to buy in his deal, but for Albert Gudmundsson, who has been linked with a move to Spurs in the past.
This comes from Calciomercato.it, who explain that several Premier League clubs, ‘in particular’ Tottenham, are ‘ready to bring’ the Iceland international to England’s top-tier ’to the tune of millions’.
The belief is Spurs ‘could bet big on him and put a significant sum’ on the table to sign the winger, who has been in great form for Genoa this season.
Tottenham could even offer ‘more than the €30m’ requested by the Italians, knowing that players who come from Italy tend to be ready for the Premier League.
The examples of Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur are good examples of this, and that’s why any team in Italy wanting Gudmundsson ‘must hurry’ to avoid having to directly compete with Spurs.
Gudmundsson has been very prolific from the wing, scoring 11 goals in 24 appearances in all competitions this season for Genoa on top of assisting three other goals.
