The 28-year-old operates as a defensive midfielder, and can also be used in the middle of the pitch and as a centre-back. José Mourinho has used him in all three positions this season, and he’s managed two goals and three assists from 16 games.
Cristante is an ‘indispensable’ player for the Portuguese tactician and his performances have caught the attention of Tottenham. That’s according to Il Messaggero, relayed by TuttoMercatoWeb, who provide the latest on this case.
The versatile player has a deal lasting until 2027 and the report states the Serie A side would find it difficult to turn down a €30m Tottenham offer for him.
