Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with Pape Matar Sarr in recent days, after claims at the end of last week that the player was very close to leaving Metz for the Premier League club.

In the following days it’s been explained Tottenham have edged ahead of other English clubs for the midfielder, and whilst that’s been happening the price has been going up.

On Monday, we covered claims from Le10 Sport that Spurs had reached an agreement with Metz for the transfer, and that the fee was now around €30m. The only thing left to sort out was talks between the player and the London club.

FootMercato also carry the €30m fee, which presumably is heavily weighted with bonuses, and they say there’s now ‘total agreement’ on the transfer. Pape Matar Sarr wants the move to Tottenham, which has obviously helped push things along.

The 18-year-old is expected to sign a six year contract and there’s no indication whether he’ll be on loan at Metz this season or available to Nuno Espirito Santo.
