Roger Ibañez ‘has been offered’ to Tottenham Hotspur by AS Roma general manager Tiago Pinto, according to Il Messaggero.
On Wednesday, Pinto made a trip to London for a potential incoming operation and also to carry out a few sales. It’s claimed the defender’s asking price is set at €30m, taking into account 10% of the fee will go to his former club, Atalanta.
The possibility of the 24-year-old ending up at Tottenham is also discussed by today’s Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport.
Gazzetta also state José Mourinho’s side are looking for €30m for the centre-back but ‘can close’ his sale if there’s an offer of €22-25m plus bonuses.
They also state Pinto, during his time in the English capital, will ‘try to understand how real’ is Spurs’ interest in the player.
Over at Corriere dello Sport, it’s said the Roma general manager is working to transform the interest shown by several clubs, with ‘Tottenham in primis’, into concrete offers.
Time is running out for the Giallorossi, who have to raise €28m before the end of this month.
Ibañez’s quick sale to Tottenham could largely help them improve their finances.
