As the Turkish media continues to report Fenerbahce’s talks with Tottenham Hotspur attacker Lucas Moura, they now reveal the salary requested by the player.
According to journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu (via MSN), the Brazilian wants €5m per year to sign for his new club. It’s said he’s ‘willing’ to make the move ‘if these conditions are met’.
Moura is expected to leave Tottenham at the end of his contract in the summer, so the salary is all the investment Fenerbahce would need to make to get him signed, as well as a likely signing on fee.
It’s pointed out that this is basically the same money demanded by Chelsea’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the Turkish side, so that’s not impossible for them to afford it, even though they may have to choose just one of the two.
We must recall that, earlier this week, Moura’s agent told the Brazilian media there are no talks with Fenerbahce going on, with journalist Jorge Nicola saying the player would rather stay in Europe’s main leagues.
Of course, his representative could be just bluffing, especially because the player has a contract with Tottenham until the end of the season and could still hold on for a few months until taking a final decision.
