Earlier this week, we covered reports from Italy which said Tottenham Hotspur loanee Tanguy Ndombele was likely to ‘return to London’ following his spell at Napoli.
With the Serie A side not convinced of spending over €28m to trigger his buying clause, it was claimed only a new solution would keep him at the club.
This scenario is now backed up by outlet Area Napoli, who today features a piece claiming that the Italian side are already working to get a discount to sign the 26-year-old from Tottenham.
It’s said the €28m fee is considered ‘too high’, but since the midfielder ‘has shown willingness’ of staying at the club, they will work for a new deal.
According to Area Napoli, another idea is to renew the loan with a new right to buy in 2024 for €20m.
The outlet highlights that Ndombele has been showing good performances in Italy, and the problem is really the price to make the operation permanent.
Now we should wait and see how Tottenham would react to this new offer, especially regarding an extension for the loan.
