With just 74 minutes under his belt at Tottenham this season, there are big questions marks behind Antonio Conte’s decision to keep Bryan Gil around.
The winger was barely used last season before being sent to Valencia on loan for the second half of the campaign, where he excelled and helped them reach the final of the Copa del Rey.
There was hope from the La Liga side they could keep him for this campaign as well, but a deal with Tottenham was never reached, meaning the Spaniard stayed in London.
He’s made just one appearance in the Premier League so far, totalling six minutes, and it seems it would be far better for everyone if he was allowed to play elsewhere from January onwards once more.
This is what Estadio Deportivo write about on Thursday, explaining the player ‘could leave’ Tottenham in the second half of the season, and there is one club where fans are keen to have him.
That’s Cádiz, who are currently 19th in La Liga, and are the big team near where he was born (which was in Barbate, to be precise), even if he has never actually played for them.
Looking at both him and Suso, they state the two players are ones ‘whom the fans dream will return in the winter market’.
They do admit that ‘seems unlikely’, however, probably due to the wages, and the fact Bryan Gil can probably aim a bit higher.
Still, if no one else shows up, perhaps the challenge of saving the club from relegation could be one the Tottenham winger is ready to undertake?
