Bryan Gil has returned to Tottenham Hotspur after spending the second half of last season on loan at Sevilla, with whom he won the Europa League.
On Tuesday, ABC Sevilla reported the 22-year-old is open to returning to the La Liga side and will try to convince Ange Postecoglou to let go of him. It was also stated Sevilla coach José Luis Mendilibar is keen to have him back.
Sevilla will not be able to sign the Tottenham player again because of an injury setback, according to Marca.
The report says the winger has been struggling with ‘discomfort for months’ and it’s been suggested he has been nursing this injury since March’s international break.
It’s said the Spain international has ‘finally decided’ to go under the knife and the surgery will take place at the Ripoll y de Prado Sport Clinic in Murcia on Wednesday. Marca add he could be out of action for the next two months.
Gil arrived at Tottenham in 2021 and has struggled to have a prominent role in north London so far. This has seen him go out on loan to Valencia for six months in 2022 and Sevilla earlier this year.
