On Tuesday, Sky Deutschland journalist Patrick Berger stated Tottenham Hotspur’s Sergio Reguilón is the main target for Borussia Dortmund.
Berger’s claim is backed up by Bild, who then provide more on BVB’s pursuit of the 27-year-old.
The Bundesliga side are looking to sign a new left-back in January and the focus is on the Tottenham player.
It’s claimed Dortmund are ‘working intensively on signing’ the Spaniard, who is currently on loan at Manchester United.
The Red Devils signed him towards the end of the last window after Luke Shaw picked up an injury. The latter has returned to the pitch while another left-back, Tyrel Malacia, is yet to regain full fitness.
Regulión has a ‘big advantage’ as Bild state there is an exit clause in his deal that allows him to end his loan stay at Old Trafford ‘at his own request’. This makes him a ‘perfect fit’ for the German club.
Dortmund have a €7m budget for the winter market. Therefore, the report explains that they are looking to sign the Tottenham owned player on loan with a purchase option. It’s not mentioned if Spurs are willing to accept this formula.
