It seems the longer the stories about Mauricio Pochettino returning to Tottenham continue, the less chance there is of it happening.

That’s why other names, especially with the Real Madrid vacancy filled by Carlo Ancelotti, are circulating, and Antonio Conte is one of them.

The former Chelsea manager recently walked away from Inter after winning the Serie A title with them, and reports from Italy suggested Daniel Levy had made a huge offer to convince him to take the Tottenham job.

Reports claimed the Italian was ‘very tempted’ by the prospect of managing the London club, having fallen in love with both the Premier League and the English capital during his time at Stamford Bridge.

Well, Sky Italia journalist Alessandro Alciato is now reporting on Twitter that ‘discussions between Antonio Conte and Tottenham are at an advanced stage’.

That’s big news, since it appears that Levy has given up on Pochettino, if he ever seriously considered a return in the first place, and moved onto a manager known to redress dire situations fairly swiftly all the while getting results along the way.
