Tottenham are the club ‘moving the most’ to sign Albert Gudmundsson from Genoa this summer and have an ‘open channel’ with the Italian side.
That’s according to Primo Canale, who say Tottenham are the club who are moving ‘most decisively’ for the player as his list of suitors continues to grow.
They explain that Tottenham have excellent relations with Genoa following the deal for Radu Dragusin in the January transfer window, and the loan deal that took Djed Spence the opposite way.
That means talks between the two sides are not likely to prove difficult, especially since there is an ‘open talk’ about the right-back’s future, even if they do differ on their valuation of the Iceland international.
Either way, the belief is that Tottenham are moving definitively to get their man and perhaps get ahead of the competition, particularly in Italy.
Their interest is well established at this point, with numerous reports over the last few months indicating that Spurs are interested and even that Daniel Levy is willing to pay more and back his new transfer experts at the club.
Whether that means he will accept whatever Genoa demand for the 26-year-old, who has 11 goals and three assists in 28 games in Serie A this season, remains to be seen.
What is clear is that Tottenham are firmly in the race and he’s a name to keep an eye on as they continue to build under Ange Postecoglou.
