Christian Eriksen’s representatives are phoning clubs around Europe to try and find the Tottenham man a new club.
That’s according to Marca, who say his lawyers are contacting clubs as the midfielder will be able to talk to any European sides in the January transfer window.
Eriksen was expected to leave Spurs in the summer having stated after the Champions League final defeat to Liverpool that he may fancy a change.
Surprisingly a move never happened, despite numerous claims that Real Madrid were looking at the Dane as an alternative to Paul Pogba.
Marca assert that no bid has ever come from the Bernabeu for Eriksen although the two clubs did hold talks last summer, with Tottenham putting a €120m price on his head.
Spurs then offered Eriksen to Madrid again this summer, but Zinedine Zidane was insistent they sign Pogba from Manchester United, and that meant the transfer didn’t happen.
Eriksen is hoping that Madrid will come back for him in, particularly now he only has a year left on his contract, and Real are one of the European clubs that his representatives have contacted.
It’s stated Tottenham are convinced that Eriksen will end up joining Los Blancos and Mauricio Pochettino wants a solution to the issue.
So far that hasn’t been found, though, and Eriksen remains a man in limbo hoping someone will come knocking at his door.
