Following a loan spell at Lyon and the subsequent deal struck with Napoli, it’s clear that Antonio Conte doesn’t want Tanguy Ndombélé at Tottenham.
Spurs’ decision to sign the player a few years ago for a high fee has dramatically backfired, and there is little chance of them recouping all, if any, of their investment in the near future.
His move from Tottenham to Napoli in the summer certainly gave some hope that money would come in, since an option to buy of around €25m was negotiated.
It worked with Fulham and the transfer of André-Frank Zambo Anguissa, but it appears that unless something changes in the coming months, Spurs will have to accept the Frenchman’s return.
He said: “Napoli are evaluating some players. 90% of the squad will stay. The remaining 10% could say goodbye, purely between economic reasons and personal career ambitions. If Ndombélé doesn’t show a far better end of the season, I don’t believe he will be kept by the club.
“Even the fact that they are watching Frattesi makes me think. To date, therefore, I don’t think Napoli intend to keep the Frenchman. Naturally, should there be improvements, it’s not excluded that there are some evolutions (in the situation).”
Since his arrival in Naples, the player has featured in 27 games under Luciano Spalletti, scoring one goal and assisting another, with both those contributions coming in the Coppa Italia.
