Tottenham winger Bryan Gil is set to miss the remainder of the season as he undergoes surgery for a torn lateral collateral ligament in his right knee.

That’s according to El Partidazo de COPE and journalist Albert Diez, who report that Gil’s loan spell at Girona from Tottenham has been brought to a disappointing end.

Gil joined the Spanish side on loan from Tottenham in the summer in search of regular playing time as he looks to get his career back on track.

He had initially been enjoying himself at the Spanish club but has fallen by the wayside in recent months reports this week stated he was now considering surgery after picking up a knee injury.

Partidazo provide the latest on that and say the decision has been made as Gil is currently undergoing surgery on a torn lateral collateral ligament in his right knee.

This surgery will rule him out for the remainder of the season and effectively bring his time at Girona to an end.

That’ll come as a major blow to the 24-year-old, who has seen several loan spells away from Tottenham in recent years fall by the wayside due to injuries.
