Tottenham forward Bryan Gil says he believes he can ‘do well’ at Valencia, with a loan move to the Spanish club set to be completed today.

The youngster has found himself out of favour since a move to Tottenham from Sevilla in the summer as part of a deal that saw Erik Lamela go the other way.

He’s struggled for game time since Antonio Conte arrived, so Spurs have opened the possibility of a move back to Spain this month to give him the game time he needs.

That has led Valencia to push for his signature, and the youngster has since been filmed arriving at Valencia’s training ground ahead of a medical.

Before that, he was seen arriving at the airport ahead of the move, where Las Provincias managed to speak to him as he passed through and quote him as saying; “I like Valencia, and I like the way Valencia play. I think I can do well here. I’ve spoken a lot with Carlos Soler these days.”

The newspaper reports than an announcement from Tottenham and Valencia for the loan deal is expected ‘in the next few hours’ when Gil will be registered as a La Liga player until the end of the season.

The loan deal is set to end at that point, and he’ll return to Spurs, but they also corroborate reports from earlier today that it could be extended.

According to their information, ‘it is not ruled out’ that the two clubs could strike another deal for next season ‘if the performance is good’ and the Gil ‘feels comfortable at the Mestalla’.
