On Saturday, we carried a report from Corriere dello Sport, who explained that Tottenham Hotspur’s Japhet Tanganga is a strong candidate for AC Milan this summer.

The Serie A winners are focused on taking Charles De Ketelaere away from Club Brugge and there has been progress made on this front to close the operation.

After closing the deal for the Belgian, Milan’s focus will be to sign a new centre-back. This is were the Tottenham player comes into the picture.

TuttoMercatoWeb state that from today, Milan and Spurs should start talks again, to find the right formula and numbers for the Tanganga operation.

It’s claimed the Italian champions want a loan deal with an option to buy, while Tottenham chief Fabio Paratici wants the obligation to buy, starting from €20m.

Today’s Corriere dello Sport have a report on the player and their title reads: ‘Now the lunge for Tanganga’.

Milan will have ‘no gruelling negotiations’, like the one with Club Brugge for De Ketelaere, or the one they had with Lille over Sven Botman, to sign Antonio Conte’s man. Having lost prominence at Spurs, he is ‘attracted’ at joining the San Siro club.

With Stefano Pioli’s side looking to sign the 23-year-old on a temporary deal, the report states the ‘modalities of a possible loan must be defined’.

Milan are looking for the right formula with Spurs and their chief, Fabio Paratici. There are many questions whether as a part of the loan deal, there will be an option or obligation to buy. The Rossoneri have secured deals in the past using the former.

Corriere state this is the ‘knot to be solved’ with the Premier League side, for Milan to sign Tanganga on a loan deal this summer.
