Tottenham have been in contact with RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo over a potential move in the summer as the midfielder considers his options.
That’s according to SportBILD, who say Olmo needs to make a decision about his future this summer as he enters the final year of his contract.
The newspaper explains that Olmo’s current deal at Leipzig expires in 2024, meaning he will either have to renew this summer or be sold to avoid losing him on a free next year.
The Spaniard is currently ‘leaning more and more’ towards a transfer away from the club, with a contract extension looking ‘improbable’ at this point.
He wants to compete for titles, particularly the Champions League, and because of this he, his father and his advisors are ‘now considering’ enquiries from England despite the player’s dream destination being Spain.
Tottenham are one of the clubs in the Premier League who have ‘enquired’ about the 24-year-old to find out what his future plans may be.
At the moment Leipzig value the midfielder around €40m but that price could depend on whether they qualify for the Champions League next season.
If they fail to do so it would mean a revenue loss of around €30-40m, something that would likely have to be plugged with a sale of one or more of their current stars.
Olmo would be a prime candidate given his contract situation, although whether Tottenham or any of the other clubs who have been in touch with the player are willing to pay such a figure remains to be seen.
