On Tuesday, Expressen journalist Anel Avdić stated Barcelona target Lucas Bergvall visited Tottenham Hotspur during a trip to England.
Later that day, Mundo Deportivo reported the Djurgårdens IF rising star had made a trip to Spain to finalise a move to the Camp Nou.
The La Liga side have reportedly managed to beat competition from Tottenham and others in the race for the 17-year-old.
Sport state the midfielder wanted to personally speak with Barca and get to know the city before agreeing to join them.
The Catalan club have a deal in place with Djurgårdens IF for €6m plus €3m bonuses, and it depends on Bergvall accepting their proposal.
It’s said the Spanish giants’ latest offensive has resulted in several other interested clubs making fresh attempts. This includes Tottenham, Eintracht Frankfurt and Inter Milan.
The report states these clubs are ‘bidding very hard’ with ‘higher transfer proposals and a higher salary’, but the youngster has his heart set on joining Barca.
Over at Mundo Deportivo, they state Barca’s idea is to try and close the deal for the Sweden international this week.
It’s explained that in the ‘last few hours’, Tottenham have tried to hijack Barca’s deal.
That would be difficult for Spurs, considering Bergvall has a firm desire to join the La Liga side.
