Ludogorets forward Elvis Manu has revealed his extra motivation for the upcoming Europa League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
The forward has been in red-hot form this season, bagging six goals and two assists in 11 games in all competitions so far for the Bulgarian side.
Three of his goals, and one of his assists, have come in the Europa League group stages, with him recently getting a hat-trick in a 4-3 defeat to Austrian side LASK.
Those three goals earned him a place in UEFA’s Team of the Week and continued an impressive European record for him personally, which currently stands at nine in 18 games.
He’ll be looking to add to that when his side take on Tottenham in their second Group J meeting on Thursday.
However, it turns out he has an extra motivation to do well against them, revealing he’s a big fan of Tottenham’s fiercest rivals Arsenal.
“A European hat-trick is something special, I noticed from all the attention,” he told Voetbal International.
“I’m a big fan of Arsenal, so I think I’ll do them a favour with that. Henry, Pirès, Bergkamp, Ljungberg, Lehmann.
“During that time I really fell in love with Arsenal.”
