Tottenham Hotspur have an interest in VfL Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix, according to Sky Deutschland.
RB Leipzig are also keen on signing the defender and have seen their first offer rejected by their Bundesliga rivals.
The two clubs have maintained contact since then, but haven’t found an agreement so far. This has allowed Spurs to ‘interfere’ as they have an interest in the 21-year-old.
It’s claimed the Frenchman is the ‘dream player’ for Tottenham chief Fabio Paratici and he wanted to sign Lacroix for his former club, Juventus. Despite all this, Nuno Espírito Santo’s side ‘have not yet made a specific offer’.
That could be because the north London club’s interest in the defender is ‘not as concrete’ as that of Leipzig.
This should give Leipzig hope of bringing Lacroix to the club as they ‘absolutely want to sign’ him in this window.
Leipzig have also received encouragement in their pursuit of Lacroix as Sky state the ‘player himself wants to take the next step, preferably with Jesse Marsch’s side’.
With both Tottenham and Leipzig showing interest in Lacroix, Wolfsburg, down at their end, are ‘reluctant’ to let go of their top talent this summer.
