A week ago, Tutto Udinese stated Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs willing to make an offer to sign Rodrigo Becão.
The centre-back’s deal expires in 2024 and the Serie A side have been trying to tie him down to a new contract, according to Messaggero Veneto.
His renewal has been made difficult by the interest shown by Tottenham and other clubs. Udinese have offered a new deal to the defender, but he has been rejecting it since October because of the tempting offers he received in the summer.
The Brazilian is the Udinese player with the ‘most market’, which is demonstrated by the recent interest shown by Spurs and Inter Milan. He fears signing a new deal could hinder his desire to get a move elsewhere next season.
The other option could be that Becão, in order to sign a new deal, is awaiting a promise from Udinese to sell him for a fixed fee [between €15m and €20m] in the future.
For the renewal, Becão would be assisted by his agent and Luciano Ramalho, Gino Pozzo’s trusted man. It will be Ramalho who will negotiate the amount [for the player’s sale] with the Pozzo family. Once there is clarity on this, the Brazilian could sign a new deal.
Udinese’s promise to let Becão leave for a fixed fee would please the South American and his suitors, including Tottenham.
